ASIDE from the OFW Pass, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) yesterday advised overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) that the Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) may also be processed online.
In a public advisory, the DMW said OECs may also be processed in the DMW Mobile App, where the OFW Pass is being availed.
“The standard Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) may be accessed online, through the DMW POEA Online Processing System for Balik-Manggagawa (POPS-BaM),” said the DMW.
It added the OECs are not yet phased out despite the introduction of the OFW Pass.
“OECs remain valid and may still be used as travel exit pass,” said the DMW.
Last month, the DMW held the ceremonial launch of the OFW Pass with 10 pilot testing sites identified.
These were the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia, Oman, Japan, Taiwan, and United Kingdom (UK).
The OFW Pass is set to fully replace the traditional OEC, which has been used by OFWs since 1992, after the transition period.
