A SUPPORTER of the communist New People’s Army, tagged as Bicol region’s most wanted person, was arrested by the police in Jovellar town in Albay for 53 counts of rape, it was reported yesterday
The PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) identified the suspect as Eusebio Jimenez, alias Alpawr, who was nabbed last Saturday in Sitio Lilibdon, Barangay Ma-Og.
CIDG personnel arrested Jimenez by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Jose Demosthenes Salgado, acting presiding judge of Ligao City Regional Trial Court Branch 12 last September 1.
The court recommended no bail for Jimenez.
Police said Jimenez is a “contact” and supporter of the NPA and has been seen in the company of some NPA rebels operating in the towns of Jovellar, Guinobatan, Pioduran and Ligao City.
He is currently in the custody of CIDG Albay Provincial Field Unit “for documentation and proper disposition.”
The CIDG said Jimenez was nabbed under Oplan Pagtutugis, a PNP campaign plan to arrest persons with standing arrest warrants.
