SECURITY forces arrested a female New People’s Army rebel, the third most wanted person in Sultan Kudarat, during a law enforcement operation in Kalamansig town in the province on Sunday.
Gina Ciano is a member of the Center for Lumad Advocacy Networking Services, a unit under the White Area Committee of the CPP-NPA’s Guerilla Front 73, the military said yesterday.
Maj. Arvin Encinas, spokesman of the AFP’s Western Mindanao Command based in Zamboanga City, said government has offered a P200,000 reward for information leading to her neutralization.
Encinas said Ciano was arrested by forces from the Army’s 37th Infantry Battalion and the Kalamansig police station in Barangay Sangay at around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday by virtue of an arrest warrant.
The warrant was issued by Sultan Kudarat Judge Reynato Gleyo for a murder case, with no bail recommended.
Encinas said Ciano was turned over to the Sultan Kudarat police office “for documentation and proper disposition.”
