Lt. Col. Cleto Lelina Jr, commander of the Army’s 9th Infantry Battalion that led the operation, ordered his men to continue hunting down the rebels who were able to escape.

Brig. Gen. Jaime Abawag Jr, commander of the Army’s 902nd Brigade, said it was unfortunate another life was lost due to the armed struggle of the NPA, which the military calls Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).

He urged other rebels to surrender and be with their families during the Yuletide season.

He assured the rebels that the military is willing to help the rebels to live a peace life.

Abawag vowed the military will continue its relentless operations against the NPA during the holiday season. He asked the rebels to abandon any plan to conduct atrocities during the period, saying their lives will just be in danger.
