CABINET Secretary Karlo Nograles is taking on a new role — chairman of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Nograles, who is also the current acting presidential spokesman and co-chairman of the Interagency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), took his oath before President Duterte yesterday.

“Automatic deemed vacated po,” he said when asked if all of his three positions are now vacant.

He declined to answer other questions about his replacement or who will now act as the President’s spokesman, and the time of the “Talk to the People” address of Duterte.

“Sensya na po. I can say no more kasi nag oath na po ako. Hope everyone understands (Begging your indulgence. I can say no more because I already took my oath. Hope everyone understands),” he said in a message to media.

Malacañang released photos and video of Nograles’ oath taking on Monday night.

A copy of Nograles’ supposed appointment paper dated March 4, as ad interim chairman of CSC, circulated on social media.
