THE Department of Foreign Affairs yesterday said no Filipino was killed or injured in Tuesday’s shooting incident in a shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand.
DFA Assistant Secretary Paul Cortes said this was based on a report of the country’s embassy in Bangkok.
Thai authorities have arrested a 14-year-old male after the shooting at the Siam Paragon mall, which left two people dead and five injured.
Cortes said the embassy immediately contacted Thai authorities and members of the Filipino community Tuesday to know if there are Filipinos hurt or killed in the incident, considering that there might be many of them shopping at that time.
There are close to 18,000 Filipinos living and working in Thailand.
