PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. has designated former National Tobacco Administrator and chief operating officer Robert Victor Seares Jr. as deputy administrator of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said.
The PCO, in a Facebook post yesterday, said the President made appointments in the Department of Trade and Industry, Land Transportation Office, National Bureau of Investigation, and NIA, which included Seares.
Seares, a former mayor of Dolores town in Abra, served as administrator and vice chairman of the National Tobacco Administration before he was appointed administrator and CEO in 2020.
He is an alumnus of the University of Santo Tomas where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Botany. He pursued a Doctor of Medicine degree at Our Lady of Fatima until his junior year.
The other appointees were Eric M. Mercado, NBI director III; Ma. Lourdes D. Pancho, DTI Director I; Robert R. Kiunisala, LTO Director I; and Jose D. Tomas Sr. as member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Nueva Vizcaya.
