LESS than 2,000 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases were reported by the Department of Health for the fourth straight day yesterday but 309 more lost their battle against the deadly virus.
In its latest bulletin, the DOH said the total number of infections in the country rose to 2,816,980 counting the 1,926 new cases yesterday while the death toll climbed to 45,581 for a case fatality rate of 1.62.
The positivity rate in the country stood at 3.9 percent out of the 40,996 tests conducted last November 12.
There were 28,102 active cases, with 62.3 percent mild cases, 16.9 percent moderate cases, 10.5 percent severe cases, 5.8 percent asymptomatic cases, and 4.5 percent critical cases.
The DOH also reported 3,140 more recoveries, raising the number of survivors to 2,743,297. This means that 97.4 percent of COVID patients in the country have recovered.
