AFTER three straight days of over 5,000 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, the Department of Health reported 4,405 new infections yesterday while 149 more lost their battle against the deadly virus.
In its latest bulletin, the DOH said the total infections in the country now stands at 2,761,307 while the death toll rose to 41,942 for a case fatality rate of 1.52.
The positivity rate in the country stands at 9 percent out of the 47,731 tests conducted last October 23.
Active cases dropped to 57,763 from 60,957 last Sunday, with 76.2 percent mild cases, 9.7 percent moderate cases, 6.5 percent asymptomatic cases, 5.3 percent severe cases, and 2.3 percent critical cases.
The DOH also reported 7,561 more recoveries, bringing the number of survivors to 2,661,602. This means that 96.4 percent of COVID patients have recovered.
