FOR the first time in eight months, new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the country dipped to 2,303 but this figure does not include data from eight laboratories, according to the Department of Health.
In its latest bulletin, the DOH said the new infections were the lowest since March 3, when 1,781 new cases were reported.
Overall, the number of cases in the country rose to 2,792,656 while there were 128 more deaths, raising the toll to 43,404 for a case fatality rate of 1.55.
The positivity rate in the country stood at 6.8 percent out of the 29,679 tests conducted last October 31.
There were 40,786 active cases, with 71.2 percent mild cases, 13 percent moderate cases, 7.5 percent severe cases, 5.1 percent asymptomatic cases, and 3.2 percent critical cases.
The DOH also reported that 4,677 more have recovered from the deadly virus, raising the number of survivors to 2,708,466. This means that 97 percent of COVID patients in the country have recovered.
