MINIMUM wage earners as well as domestic workers in the Cagayan Valley region are set to feel the effects of the new wage order issued by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – Region 2 in 10 days.
According to the National Wages and Productivity Board (NWPC), both Wage Order No. RTWPB-02-20 and Wage Order No. RTWPB-02-DW-03 will take effect on March 16.
In the wage order for minimum wage earners, workers in non-agriculture and retail/service establishments employing more than 10 staff were granted a P10 increase to make their basic pay P370.
Workers in the agricultural sector, meanwhile, received a P5 pay hike to bring its minimum wage to P345.
On the other hand, employees of retail/service establishments employing not more than 10 were granted a P25 pay hike, to be divided in two tranches of P12.50 each. The second tranche will be effective on July 1 and will make the minimum pay for the category at P345.
