WHAT’S the sense of resuming collegiate training if there will be no tournament to follow?
This was posed by a highly-reliable Malaya-Business Insight source, an official of one NCAA team, who is not sold on the idea of the collegiate squads’ return to training.
“Pinayagan ang bubble training pero naghihintay pa rin ng approval ng IATF. ‘Di bale kung may deadline ang CHED. Aanhin mo iyong training, kailan ba ang liga?” the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said.
“Ang ni-recommend lang nila (CHED) na payagan ay iyong training, hindi sila nag-recommend after ng training, puwede ang bubble set-up, ang tournament, walang ganoon.
Basta training lang ang ini-rekomenda na mag-resume under a bubble set-up.”
The CHED last Oct. 26 released the safety and proper health guidelines for the resumption of collegiate team practice, but it will be limited to workouts and physical conditioning.
If and when teams adhere to the training guidelines, it is likely that tournaments will follow soon, according to CHED chairperson Prospero De Vera III.
