The operation was conducted by operatives of the NAIA-Interagency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADTG) which is composed of various law enforcement agencies, including PDEG, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bureau of Customs.

The illegal drugs, placed inside two plastic packs, were concealed in her luggage, authorities said.

Also seized from her were cellular phones, travel documents, and identification cards.

She will face a case for violation of Section 4 (Importation of Dangerous Drugs and/or Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals), Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PDEG director Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta said: “The NAIA IADITG’s latest successful interdiction operation exemplifies their continued dedication to stopping illegal drugs at the nation’s primary gateway.”

“The seizure of illegal substances significantly reduces the risk of drug-related crime in local communities. The public stands united with the IADITG, confident in their commitment to keeping the country safe from drug threats,” added Matta.
