THE Mandaluyong City government, the Department of Health–National Capital Region (DOH-NCR) and PhilHealth launched the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (Yakap) to give more health care services in the city last Saturday.
The Yakap program is implemented by national and local governments following the guidelines of the Universal Health Care Law.
According to PhilHealth, Yakap was formerly called the Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama or KonSulTa Program.
Mayor Menchie Abalos thanked PhilHealth for giving support to the Yakap program and encouraged every Mandaleño to be a member (of PhilHealth) and the program.
Yakap aims to give PhilHealth medical services in the city, from consultation to health profiling.
Among those who took part in the program were senior citizens, solo parents, 4Ps beneficiaries, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
They were given laboratory tests, CBC, chest X-ray, dental consultation, eye checkup, oral health kits and other medicines.
