PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. has named officer-in-charge acting assistant secretary Michael Villafranca as Public Works and Highways Assistant Secretary, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced yesterday.
Villafranca joined the DPWH in 1999 as a Development Management Officer and rose from the ranks, holding various positions, including director of the Human Resource and Administrative Service (HRAS), chief administrative officer of the DPWH-National Capital Region, and chief legal officer of the DPWH-Cordillera Administrative Region.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Sto. Tomas and Bachelor of Laws degree at the Arellano University.
He also has a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines, a diploma course in Organizational Development from the Ateneo Center for Organizational Development, and a Doctorate Degree in Public Administration from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.
The President also named Vanessa Villanueva as Director VI of the DPWH, Premier Dee Ewigkeit Castro and Mariam Mautante as Public Attorneys V under the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Catherine Lopez as Director II of the Department of Finance (DOF), and Juan Corpuz Jr. as acting member of the Board of Trustees of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS).
