A jeepney driver wounded after being shot by two unidentified persons in Taytay Rizal on Friday night remains under observation at the Rizal Medical Center.
Col. Felipe Maraggun, Rizal provincial police office (PPO) director, identified the victim as Reynaldo Ramboanga, of legal age, who sustained several gunshot wounds.
Investigation showed that Ramboanga was driving his jeepney along Phase 2 Block 17 Lot 11 San Lorenzo in Barangay San Juan at around 8:55 p.m. when two men flagged him.
Instead of boarding the jeepney, the men drew undetermined types of handguns and shot the victim several times.
They immediately boarded a parked motorcycle and fled towards Ejercito Avenue while bystanders rushed the victim to a nearby hospital. A manhunt is being conducted for the gunmen who will face frustrated murder charges.
