BROTHERS Erwin and Ben Tulfo and reelectionist Senators Christoper “Bong” Go and Ramon “Bong” Revilla remained the top choice for senator for the majority of Filipinos, according to the February 22 to 28 Tugon ng Masa survey of OCTA Research.
The survey, which involved 1,200 adult respondents nationwide with a margin of error of ±3 percent, showed that 66 percent of the public prefers ACT-CIS Partylist Rep. Erwin Tulfo, followed by Go with a 62 percent voter preference.
Ben Tulfo, running as an independent, is running third with a voting preference of 59 percent, followed by Revilla with a 51 percent voting preference.
Erwin Tulfo, a former broadcast journalist who also served as social welfare secretary, expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support he is receiving from Filipinos who stand with him in his advocacies to improve the country.
“Ang patuloy na suporta at pagmamahal ng ating mga kababayan sa atin at sa ating mga adbokasiya ang nagsisilbing lakas ko na magpatuloy lamang sa trabaho sa Kongreso bilang kakampi ng mga inaapi (The continued support and love or our people for our advocacies serves as my strength to go on with work in Congress and as an ally of the oppressed),” he said.
Making it to the top 12 are former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III (47 percent), Makati Mayor Abby Binay and re-electionist Sen. Lito Lapid (43 percent each), Deputy Speaker and Las Pinas Rep. Camille Villar and former Sen. Manny Pacquiao (40 percent each).
Also in the top 12 were Sen. Pilar Juliana “Pia” Cayetano and entertainment host Willie “Wil” Revillame (39 percent each), while tied for 12th place were Sen. Imee Marcos and former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson (38 percent each).
Trailing behind them were former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos with a 36 percent voter preference, Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa with 35 percent, and Senator Francis “Tol” Tolentino with 34 percent. – With Wendell Vigilia
