POLICE operatives arrested one of the primary suspects in the murder of businessman Dominic Sytin during a law enforcement operation in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.

PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said Edrian Rementilla, who carries the aliases Ryan Rementilla and Oliver Fuentes, was nabbed last Saturday night in Barangay Pala-o.

Remintilla was arrested by Central Luzon and Northern Mindanao police by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by the Manila Regional Trial Court, Branch 7.

Fajardo said the family of Sytin, the chief executive officer of United Auctioneers Inc., has been informed of Rementilla’s arrest.

Fajardo said justice will always catch up with those attempting to evade justice.

“You can run, but you can never truly hide. This arrest proves that no matter how long it takes, justice will always prevail. Let this be a strong message to all criminals—there is no escape. The law will find you, no matter where you hide,” said Fajardo.

Sytin was shot and killed in front of a hotel in Subic on November 28, 2018. His bodyguard, Efren Espartero, was injured in the attack.

The confessed gunman, Edgardo Luib, was convicted and sentenced to 40 years in prison for murder and 12 years in prison for frustrated murder in 2019.

Sytin’s brother, Alan Dennis Sytin, was also charged. Police tagged him as the mastermind behind the murder of his brother, an accusation he has denied during the preliminary investigation.
