Super typhoon ‘Nando’ exits PH, leaving one dead, about 25,000 displaced

Super typhoon “Nando” left one person dead and displaced nearly 25,000 people before exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday morning.

“Nando” exited around 8 a.m., Philippine Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said, less than 24 hours after making landfall on Panuitan Island in Calayan, Cagayan.

One person was killed by a landslide in Tuba, Benguet on Monday, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) said “Nando” forced 7,922 families, or 24,788 individuals, to evacuate in the Ilocos region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
