SENATE minority leader Vicente Sotto III yesterday said he will donate his salary to needy students in fulfillment of his campaign promise now that he has already received his first two months’ earnings as senator.

“I have received my first two months’ salary. As promised during the campaign period, I will give these to those who will need financial help, particularly in the education sector, so I can help needy students,” Sotto said in a statement.

He said his staff members have already screened the applications for financial assistance submitted to his office and they have come up with one full scholar.  Sotto added that five individuals are set for an interview, while 12 are still completing the required documents.

He said those who want to apply for scholarships and educational assistance can fill up the Student Intake Form, which can be accessed through https://forms.gle/d1VBvvmUcujD6ALR9.

A senator has a basic monthly pay of around P250,000.
