THE PNP yesterday said the Slovakian who was found dead at the chapel of an abandoned resort in Boracay Island in Aklan last week was sexually assaulted.

In a press briefing at Camp Crame, PNP Public Information Office chief Col. Randulf Tuaño said two of the three persons of interest in the case are now in police custody.

The victim, Michaela Mickova, 23, was initially reported missing last March 10, nine days after arriving in Boracay Island, along with a male Slovakian.

Last March 12, the body of Michova was found in the comfort room of a chapel inside an abandoned resort.

“The official report of our medical examiner was that she sustained blunt force injuries to the head,” said Tuaño, citing a medico-legal report.

“She was hit in the head and there was a sign of sexual abuse,” added Tuaño.

Three persons of interest (POIs) have been identified based on testimonies of nine witnesses, said Tuaño, without disclosing their names.
