The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on Thursday ordered the detention of contractor Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya and dismissed Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan 1st district engineer Henry Alcantara.
The detention came after senators said Discaya and Alcantara repeatedly lied under oath about their involvement in anomalous flood control projects in Bulacan.
Committee chairman Sen. Panfilo Lacson approved the motion by Sen. Raffy Tulfo to detain Discaya and Alcantara, which was seconded by Sen. Erwin Tulfo.
At the hearing, Discaya denied using a fixer to register luxury vehicles, while Alcantara repeatedly denied any role in anomalous Bulacan flood projects.
