“The Seal of Good Local Governance is the highest recognition an LGU can receive from the DILG, and we are thrilled to announce that we have achieved this prestigious award for the second consecutive year: 2023 and 2024!” Zamora said.

The SGLG, enacted through Republic Act (RA) 11292, is an institutionalized award, incentive, honor, and recognition-based program that encourages local governments to commit to continual advancement and improvement in several governance areas.

To clinch the award, LGUs need to pass the DILG assessment on Financial Administration and Sustainability Disaster Preparedness Social Protection; Sensitivity Health Compliance and Responsiveness; Sustainable Education Business Friendliness and Competitiveness; Safety, Peace and Order; Environmental Management; Tourism, Heritage Development Culture, and Arts; and Youth Development.
