A motorcycle rider was killed when his vehicle collided with a Toyota Fortuner in Antipolo City last Sunday night.
Col. Felipe Maraggun, Rizal provincial police office (PPO) director, identified the fatality as Jovanne Lumbao, of legal age, and a resident of Purok 3, Zone 8, Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City.
The incident occurred on Marcos Highway near a gasoline station in Barangay Inarawan at around 10 p.m.
The Fortuner was traveling from Paenaan heading towards Cogeo Gate 2 while the Honda motorcycle the fatality was driving was traveling in the opposite direction.
The larger vehicle apparently hit a dog that suddenly crossed the road, causing its driver to lose control and collide with the motorcycle.
The fatality was brought to the East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City, but later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Toyota Fortuner (NCN 9493), identified as alias Niro, was arrested and will be charged with reckless imrpudence resulting in homicide.
