Quiapo Church has new parish priest

THE Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno (Quiapo Church) in Quiapo, Manila has a new parish priest.

The Archdiocese of Manila announced yesterday the appointment of Fr. Ramon Jade Licuanan, which will take effect next month.

“We are pleased to inform you that His Eminence, Jose Cardinal Advincula, appointed Fr. Ramon Jade Licuanan as rector and parish priest of the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno (St. John the Baptist Parish – Quiapo Church),” said Manila Archdiocese Chancellor Fr. Isidro Marinay in a circular.

Licuanan is set to succeed Fr. Rufino “Jun” Sescon Jr., who has been appointed as the new bishop of the Diocese of Balanga

Prior to his new appointment, Licuanan has been serving as parish priest of the San Felipe Neri Parish in Mandaluyong City.

He is also the Executive Secretary of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines – Episcopal Commission on Youth as well as Commissioner of the Manila Archdiocese – Commission on Youth.
