ONE party-list organization and 18 local candidates will not be proclaimed in the event that they get the highest number of votes in the May 12 polls.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) ordered the suspension of their proclamations because they have pending disqualification cases before the poll body.
“The suspension of the proclamation shall be effective until further orders from this Commission,” said the Comelec.
Leading the list is the Pilipinas Babangon Muli (PBBM) party-list, whose registration the Comelec cancelled.
Also in the list are candidates for a seat in Congress, namely, Marcelino Teodoro (Marikina City, 1st District), Christian Sia (Pasig City), Matt Florido (Quezon, 3rd District), and Philip Fortuno (Camarines Sur, 5th District).
The Comelec also suspended the proclamation of two gubernatorial bets, namely, Ronald Rodriguez (Camarines Sur), and Christian Noveras (Aurora); as well as vice gubernatorial bet Gerardo Noveras and Christine Marie Noveras (Aurora); and provincial board member aspirant Isaias Noveras Jr. (Aurora).
Suspension of proclamation orders were also issued against mayoral bets Fatima Sali Salih (Panglima Sugala, Tawi-Tawi), Belshezzar Abubakar (Panglima Estino, Sulu), Aquino Romato (Sultan Dumalondong, Lanao del Sur), Ricardo Yanson (Cataingan, Masbate), and Mando Taha (Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur); vice mayoral candidate Jeryll Harold Respicio (Reina Mercedes, Isabela); and candidates for councilor Darwin Sia (Manila, 2nd District), Menandro Buenafe (Lagangilang, Abra), James Macasero (Malabon City), and Dani Mando (Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur).
Comelec Chairman George Garcia previously said more names could be included in the coming days.
