ON Valentine’s Day, the Pro-Life Philippines Foundation Inc. is set to offer free candies, chocolates, and rosaries in exchange for condoms to those going to the Dangwa Flower Market in Manila.
In a social media post, the Pro-life Philippines said they want to counter the efforts of condom companies to give away contraceptives to young people on Valentine’s Day.
“It has become a tradition for condom companies to give away free condoms to young people on V-Day at the Dangwa Flower Market in Manila. Help us counter this by promoting true love and chastity,” said Pro-Life Philippines.
“Join us in promoting chastity and true love as we give away free chocolates and rosaries with pro-life messages,” it added.
In a report by CBCP News, Nirva Dela Cruz of Pro-Life Philippines said they want to make a stand on the importance of the human body, love, and sexuality.
This, she said, amid efforts of condom companies to link love with sexual activity.
“They (condom companies) put up stands and hand out condoms to get young people to associate love with being promiscuous and sexually active but it is actually the opposite,” she told the official news agency of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).
“Love means you can control your impulses in the light of wanting what is best for that special person in your life,” Dela Cruz added.
This Friday, hundreds, even thousands, are expected to rush to Dangwa Flower Market to make last-minute Valentine’s Day purchases for their loved ones.
Waiting for them are members of Filipinos for Life, Singles for Christ, Pro-Life Philippines, Young Catholics PH, and other pro-life organizations.
