THE Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) yesterday warned the public against unscrupulous individuals offering assistance to professionals while charging them fees.
The statement reads, “PRC warns the public of unauthorized individuals and Facebook pages offering assistance to professionals availing of PRC services.”
“The PRC will continuously take measures to protect the public from false information and services provided by any unauthorized individuals, groups, or Facebook pages,” it added.
Among the unauthorized PRC services being offered are the renewal of Professional Identification Cards (PICs), Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points and seminars, and job applications.
Facebook pages in question are “Pasabay Docs” (https://www.facebook.com/PasabayDocs and https://www.facebook.com/PasabayMarkBravo); PRC Pasabay DOCS (https://www.facebook.com/PRCPasabayDOCS); and PRC CPD Seminars (https://www.facebook.com/PRCCPDSeminars).
“Those individuals or entities are not in any way related to or recognized by PRC as partners,” said the statement.
“PRC disclaims all representations, which are reportedly extended by the said unrecognized Facebook pages,” it added.
The agency advised professionals to always refer to the PRC website regarding requirements and timelines on the release of relevant documents, including prescribed fees.
Accurate and reliable information on the PRC’s relevant services is also accessible on its official Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/professionalregulationcommission) and on X (https://x.com/PRC_main).
