Police official arrested over murder of fellow cop

A police official was arrested last Tuesday afternoon for allegedly murdering another policeman he caught having an intimate affair with his policewoman wife in November last year.

The suspect, Lt. Col. Rhoderick Pascua, was nabbed by fellow cops at 2:18 p.m. at the National Capital Region Command headquarters at Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.

Pascua had been earlier placed under the restrictive custody of the NCRPO after he was implicated in the murder of Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS) Emmanuel De Asis on November 28 last year.

Pascua reportedly shot De Asis after catching him in an intimate relationship with his wife, Executive Master Sergeant Rosemarie Pascua, inside their house in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.

Pascua, reportedly with the aid of his wife, mutilated the body of De Asis, whose remains were later recovered at Pascua’s ancestral home in Baguio City.

Police said Pascua was arrested on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Paz Esperanza Cortez, of the Taguig City Regional Trial Court Branch 271, for the murder of De Asis.

No bail was recommended for Pascua’s temporary liberty.

A police report described Pascua as the “primary suspect” in the killing of De Asis.

“Allegedly, the subject PCO (police commissioned officer) personally caught the victim and his wife…engaging in intimate sexual activities inside their residence, which resulted in the killing of the victim,” the report said.

Pascua is set to be turned over to the custody of the PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group at Camp Crame.
