THE PNP yesterday said it has released P7.72 billion in mid-year bonuses to its 230,925 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel.

“The mid-year bonus is a recognition of the dedication and faithful service of our police officers and non-uniformed personnel,” said PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil.

“Under the leadership of our President, this is a concrete step in boosting their morale and supporting their continued commitment to public service,” added Marbil.

In a statement, the PNP said the mid-year bonuses of the policemen that the Department of Budget and Management has allocated were credited directly to the Landbank ATM payroll of the eligible PNP personnel.

It said the mid-year bonus is equivalent to one month of basic salary and is granted to personnel who have rendered at least a total of four months of service from July 1 last year to May 15 this year and who are still in active service as of May 15.

It added that PNP personnel with pending administrative or criminal charges are also entitled to receive the mid-year bonus.

“Once a decision becomes final and the personnel is found guilty, they shall no longer be entitled to the mid-year bonus for that year and shall be required to refund the amount received,” the PNP said.

“However, if the penalty imposed is only a reprimand, the concerned personnel shall remain entitled to the bonus,” it added.

It said the release of the mid-year bonus “reflects the government’s continuing commitment to support the PNP and to strengthen the resolve of its personnel in fulfilling their sworn duty to serve and protect the Filipino people.”

The San Juan government yesterday announced the distribution of the mid-year bonus, equivalent to one month’s salary, to their employees and the San Juan Medical Center (SJMC).

The San Juan public information office (PIO) announced on its Facebook page that all employees, whether permanent, casual, or contractual, who have satisfactory ratings as well as having worked not less than four months starting July 1, 2024 and are still in service, shall receive their mid-year bonus on May 16. – With Christian Oineza
