The National Capital Region (NCR) and Central Luzon led all regions in terms of arrested violators with 65 apiece, followed by Central Visayas and Mimaropa with 31 and 17, respectively.

The NCR also led in terms of seized firearms with 67, followed by Central Luzon (64), Central Visayas (31), and Mimaropa (15).

The seized firearms included 115 revolvers and 71 pistols.

Amid the growing number of violators, PNP Public Information Office chief Col. Randulf Tuaño reminded the public that the Comelec gun ban is in effect.

“We want to remind the public that the Comelec gun ban already began last January 12. PTCFORs (permits to carry firearms outside residence) are suspended,” said Tuaño.

Only exempted from the gun ban are security forces who are on duty and civilians who have secured gun ban exemption from the Comelec.

The gun ban began last January 12 at the start of the election period. It will run until June 11, 2025.
