THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has adjusted benefit packages for in-patient COVID-19 cases.
Under the new packages, there will be different case rates for adults and children, and based on the severity of COVID-19. Previously, the classification was based on the severity of COVID-19 cases and the rates are the same for adults and children.
The new package rates, based on Circular No. 2024-0026, are: P55,000 for moderate COVID-19 without pneumonia for adults; P51,000 for mild COVID-19 with risk factor for children; P157,000 for moderate COVID-19 with pneumonia for adults; P92,500 for moderate COVID-19 with pneumonia for children; P250,000 for severe COVID-19 for adults; P230,000 for severe COVID-19 for children; P590,000 for critical COVID-19 for adults; and P275,000 for critical COVID-19 for children.
The old rates, under Circular 2022-0003, were P43,997 for moderate COVID-19 without pneumonia for adults and mild COVID-19 with risk factor for children; P143,267 for moderate COVID-19 with pneumonia for adults and moderate COVID-19 with pneumonia for children; P333,519 for severe COVID-19 for adults and severe COVID-19 for children; and P786,384 for critical COVID-19 for adults and critical COVID-19 for children.
“All Filipinos and PhilHealth beneficiaries are automatically entitled to the COVID-19 benefits package,” said PhilHealth.
