Performance, trust ratings of Marcos, Sara down

Majority of Filipinos are satisfied and continue to trust President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Senate President Francis Escudero and Speaker Martin Romualdez. Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio suffered a four to 10-point drop in her performance and trust ratings, the fourth quarter Tugon ng Masa survey of OctaResearch from November 10 to 16 showed.

The survey, which involved 1,200 adult respondents and had a margin of error of ±3 percent, showed that 64 percent are satisfied with the President’s performance (from 66 percent in September) while 65 percent (down from 69 percent) trust Marcos.

OctaResearch also found that 13 percent (from 12 percent) are dissatisfied while 12 percent (from 11 percent) distrust the President.

Except for Mindanao, Marcos enjoyed high performance ratings across geographical locations (63 percent to 72 percent) and socio-economic classes (58 percent to 65 percent); high trust ratings across different areas in the country (65 percent to 74 percent), and different socio-economic status (60 percent to 66 percent).

The President had the highest approval rating in Luzon at 72 percent (from 74 percent), followed by Visayas at 65 percent (up from 57 percent), National Capital Region (NCR) at 63 percent (down from 66 percent) and Mindanao at 45 percent (down from 48 percent); and by Class ABC at 65 percent (down from 69 percent), followed by Class D at 64 percent (from 66 percent) and Class E at 58 percent (down from 64 percent).

Marcos was also most trusted by those from Luzon at 74 percent (down from 78 percent), followed by NCR with 66 percent (down from 69 percent), Visayas at 65 percent (down from 71 percent), and Mindanao at 45 percent (down from 50 percent); and by Class ABC at 66 percent (down from 73 percent), Class D at 65 percent (down from 69 percent) and Class E at 60 percent (down from 67 percent).

VP DUTERTE

OctaResearch showed the Vice President’s performance and trust ratings dropped by four and 10 points, respectively at 48 percent (down from 52 percent) and 49 percent (from 59 percent) each.

Distrust of Duterte doubled to 28 percent (up from 14 percent) and while she scored a 29 percent disapproval rating (up from 15 percent).

Duterte had the highest approval rating in Mindanao at 92 percent Luzon (from 90 percent), followed by Visayas at 58 percent (up from 54 percent), Luzon at 29 percent (down from 37 percent), and NCR at 26 percent (down from 38); and by Class E at 61 percent (from 63 percent), followed by Class D at 47 percent (down from 51 percent) and Class ABC at 45 percent (down from 50 percent).

The Vice President was most trusted by those from Mindanao at 90 percent (down from 95 percent), followed the Visayas at 61 percent (from 63 percent), NCR at 30 percent (down from 47 percent), Luzon at 28 percent (down from 43 percent); and by Class E at 60 percent (down from 73 percent), Class D at 48 percent (down from 58 percent) and Class ABC at 47 percent (down from 52 percent).

OTHER TOP GOVT OFFICIALS

The OctaResearch found the Senate President and Speaker maintaining their high performance and trust ratings despite a 3 to 4-point drop.

Escudero scored a 65 percent performance rating (unchanged) and 63 percent trust rating (down from 67 percent) while Romualdez had a 59 percent performance rating (down from 62 percent) and a 58 percent trust rating (down from 61 percent).

Escudero scored a disapproval rating of 10 percent (up from 3 percent) and distrust rating of 10 percent (up from 6 percent) while Romualdez got a 14 percent disapproval rating (up from 13 percent) and 13 percent distrust rating (up from 11 percent).

The Senate President was most approved in the Visayas at 68 percent (up from 62 percent) followed NCR at 67 percent (down from 70 percent), Mindanao at 65 percent (up from 61 percent) and Luzon at 64 percent (from 66 percent); and among Class ABC at 67 percent (up from 60 percent), Class D at 66 percent (from 65 percent), and class E at 59 percent (down from 64 percent).

Escudero was most trusted in NCR at 71 percent (from 72 percent), followed by Visayas at 68 percent (from 66 percent), Luzon at 66 percent (from 67 percent) and Mindanao at 47 percent (down from 64 percent); and by Class ABC at 66 percent (from 64 percent), followed by Class D at 63 percent (from 61 percent), and Class E at 58 percent (from 59 percent).

The Speaker was had the highest approval rating in the Visayas at 69 percent (up from 66 percent) followed NCR at 61 percent (unchanged), Luzon at 61 percent (down from 68 percent), and Mindanao at 43 percent (from 45 percent); and by Class ABC at 64 percent (from 66 percent), Class D at 59 percent (down from 62 percent), and class E at 52 percent (down from 59 percent).

Romualdez was most trusted in the Visayas at 66 percent (up from 62 percent), followed by NCR at 61 percent (up from 58 percent), Luzon at 61 percent (down from 68 percent) and Mindanao at 42 percent (down from 48 percent); and by Class ABC at 62 percent (from 64 percent), followed by Class D at 58 percent (down from 61 percent), and Class E at 54 percent (down from 59 percent),

OctaResearch also found that Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo received trust and

performance ratings of 10 percent (down from 15 percent) and 8 percent (down from 14 percent), respectively.

He also received distrust and dissatisfied ratings of 10 percent (up from 7 percent) and 10 percent (from 8 percent), respectively.

Gesmundo was most trusted in Mindanao at 19 percent (down from 22 percent), followed by the Visayas at 16 percent (up from 6 percent), NCR at 6 percent (down from 9 percent), and Luzon at 3 percent (down from 16 percent); and by Class ABC at 18 percent (down from 32 percent), followed by Class E at 14 percent (down from 10 percent) and Class D at 9 percent (down from 14 percent).

His performance rating was highest among those from Mindanao at 16 percent (down from 24 percent), Visayas at 11 percent (up from 6 percent), NCR at 9 percent (up from 6 percent), and Luzon at 6 percent (up from 2 percent); and among Class D at 10 percent (from 8 percent); Class E at 8 percent (unchanged), and Class ABC at 6 percent (from 7 percent).
