PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. yesterday Sunday led the commemoration of the 36th death anniversary of his father, former President Ferdinand E. Marcos, in a mass at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Batac City, Ilocos Norte
The President attended the mass with Ilocos Norte Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos and presidential son William Vincent Marcos, other relatives and supporters.
The President, in a social media post, said his father’s “memory and his dreams remain with me always.”
The elder Marcos succumbed to illnesses while in exile in Honolulu, Hawaii, on September 29, 1989.
His body was returned to the Philippines in February 1993 and stored in a refrigerated crypt at the Ferdinand E. Marcos Presidential Center in Batac, Ilocos Norte, until his burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in August 2016.
