THE Pasig government announced that all national flags in the City shall be flown at half-staff today, July 16, to mourn the passing of former Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner and lone District of Pasig representative Rufino “Pinong” Javier.
The Pasig public information office (PIO) said that city officials passed Resolution No. 2-12 series 2025, which states that “The City Government of Pasig joins the nation and Pasigueños in mourning the passing of former Commissioner Javier.”
Having the National Flag flown at half-staff is the city’s expression of its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
“It is an act of recognition and honoring the life and contributions of former commissioner Pinong Javier to both the city and the country,” the resolution stated.
