TWENTY-FIVE areas, including Pasay City, are forecast to experience “dangerous” heat indexes today, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

PAGASA classifies a heat index ranging from 42 to 51 degrees Celsius as “dangerous,” with people likely to experience heat cramps and heat exhaustion, and heat stroke is probable if there is continued exposure.

Heat index, or apparent temperature, is the temperature felt by the human body when relative humidity combines with air temperature.
