OPERATIVES of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested last week a Pakistani national in Makati City for overstaying and lack of proper documentation.
Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said 42-year old Khasta Rahman was apprehended on March 27 at a convenience store along Antonio Arnaiz Avenue in Barangay San Lorenzo, Makati City.
“Upon verification, Rahman was found to have overstayed and lacked proper documentation. When asked to present his passport, he failed to do so, leading to his immediate apprehension,” Viado said.
BI Intelligence Division chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. said the operation was part of the agency’s continuing efforts to track down foreign nationals violating Philippine immigration laws.
“We remain vigilant in monitoring and apprehending those who abuse their stay in the country. Our intelligence teams work closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure swift action,” Manahan said.
Viado said Rahman is being detained at the BI Warden Facility in Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City pending his deportation.
