POLICE operatives yesterday seized 118 kilos of shabu worth P802.4 million along the shoreline of Mariveles town in Bataan.

The Central Luzon police regional office said a concerned citizen reported the presence of illegal drugs, which were found abandoned near a lighthouse in Barangay Sisiman.

It said policemen went to the house and promptly retrieved the illegal drugs, which were placed inside six sacks.

“The inventory was conducted in the presence of media representatives, barangay officials, and a DOJ (Department of Justice) representative,” the Central Luzon police said in a statement.

It said the illegal drugs were later turned over to the Bataan Forensic Unit for further “laboratory examination and proper disposition.”

Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Rogelio Peñones said the seizure of the illegal was a “testament to what can be achieved when the community and law enforcement work hand-in-hand.”

Peñones commended the “swift action” of the operating police units.

He also lauded the concerned citizen who provided the information, leading to the seizure of the illegal drugs.

“We commend the concerned citizen who came forward and our operating units for their swift and coordinated action,” said Peñones.

“Every kilo of drugs we take off the streets is a step closer to safeguarding our communities and securing a better future for our nation,” added Peñones.
