Police described the suspects as “high-value targets” in the continuing campaign against illegal drugs.

The two were arrested during a buy-bust operation jointly conducted by the PNP, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Armed Forces on Friendship Highway in Barangay Sto. Domingo, Angeles City.

Seized from them were 101 kilos of shabu concealed in tea bags and plastic bags.

The suspects will face charges under the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin responded to the scene and commended the personnel involved in the successful operation.

“This is a clear message: illegal drugs have no place in our city…We will not stop until every barangay is safe, drug-free, and protected,” said Lazatin.
