President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Friday the reallocation of nearly P36 billion from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The funds, originally intended for flood control projects, will now bolster two key DSWD programs: the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) and the Sustainable Livelihood Program.
With the additional funding for the AICS program, we will be able to assist more of our countrymen during emergencies),” Marcos said.
He explained that the aid would cover urgent needs such as emergency medical operations, the purchase of maintenance medicine, and other recovery-related expenses.
