P34M shabu seized; 5 suspected dealers arrested in Caloocan City

OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested four alleged drug peddlers and seized five kilos of shabu worth P34 million in Caloocan City last Sunday night.

PDEA named the suspects by their aliases as Al, 39; Sammy 22; Amy, 19, all residents of Caloocan City; and Ferds, 18, a resident of Zamboanga City.

The four were nabbed in a buy-bust operation conducted at 10:50 p.m. at Block 3, Lot 38, Abel Street, Kingstown 2 in Caloocan City, PDEA said.

Seized from them were five foil packs, labeled Guanyinwang, containing five kilos of shabu.

Also confiscated from them were a vehicle, cellular phones, the buy-bust money, and identification cards.

They will be charged for selling and possession of illegal drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In Mountain Province, PDEA operatives destroyed P3 million worth of marijuana plants and leaves during a raid at a marijuana plantation in Barangay Saclit in Sadanga town also last Sunday.

Some 10,500 fully-grown marijuana plants worth P2.1 million were uprooted and burned during the operation.

Also burned were dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops weighing three kilos worth P900,000, said PDEA.

No cultivator was arrested during the operation.

Police seized P43,588 worth of suspected dangerous drugs and arrested two women in a buy-bust operation in Binangonan, Rizal Sunday late afternoon.

Col. Felipe Maraggun, Rizal Provincial Police Office (PPO) director, identified the suspects as alias Joana and Jessica, of legal age, residents of Binangonan, Rizal.

Seized from them were five sachets containing more or less 6.41 grams of suspected shabu. – With Christian Oineza
