OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized 40 kilos of shabu worth P272 million in a buy-bust operation in Binangonan, Rizal last Wednesday night.
A suspected drug dealer identified only as alias Ronald was arrested during the operation, PDEA said in a statement.
PDEA said Ronald was caught in the act of selling illegal drugs before midnight at the Rizal Cement Village in Barangay Pantok.
The operation was conducted in coordination with the Rizal Provincial Police Office and PNP Drug Enforcement Group, PDEA said.
Seized from the suspect were 40 black gold foil packs containing 40 kilos of shabu.
PDEA said Ronald will be charged with violation of Section 5 (sale of illegal drugs) and Section 11 (possession of illegal drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez commended the personnel involved in the “high-impact operation.”
“(An) operation of this magnitude dealt a major blow to the supply chain of illegal drugs in the streets. There are more to come,” said Nerez.
