THE Eastern police district (EPD) yesterday reported confiscating P252,857 worth of illegal fireworks in Marikina, Mandaluyong, Pasig, and San Juan before, during and after the New Year revelry.
Col. Villamor Tuliao, EPD officer-in-charge, said the fireworks were destroyed last January 1 at the EPD headquarters in Pasig, witnessed by representatives of the local government, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and other agencies.
Tuliao said during the New Year celebration, the eastern part of Metro Manila had zero casualty reports. Tuliao thanked all EPD personnel who did their duty during the New Year celebration.
