P20.8M shabu seized; 3 suspected dealers arrested in Samar

THREE suspected drug dealers were arrested and three kilos of shabu worth P20.8 million were seized by anti-narcotics operatives last Monday in Samar.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) named the suspects by their aliases as Noel, Paul and Matt.

They were arrested at 4:04 p.m. in Barangay Mahayag, Catbalogan City during an interdiction operation conducted by PDEA, Philippine Coast Guard and PNP personnel.

Apart from the three kilos of shabu, also seized from the suspects were various drug paraphernalia, PDEA said.

PDEA said the suspects will face charges under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

In Negros Oriental, PDEA operatives dismantled a drug den in Barangay Tubtubon, Subulan last Monday.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of two persons who were allegedly involved in the operation of the drug den. They were identified only as Angelo, 30; and Silvino, 64.

Also nabbed was a drug den visitor, identified as Roberto, 58.

A 16-year-old Grade 10 student was rescued from the drug den, PDEA also said.

Seized at the drug den were seven grams of shabu worth P47,000.

Police seized over P2 million worth of suspected dangerous drugs and arrested two persons during a buy-bust operation in Pasig City Sunday late afternoon.

Col. Hendrix Mangaldan, local police chief, identified the suspects as alias Ryan and Andrea, both 24, and residing in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

Seized from them were several sachets containing more or less 300 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P2,040,000. – With Christian Oineza
