The three parcels initially underwent X-ray screening by a Bureau of Customs inspector and were flagged as suspicious.

“After several months without any claimant, the parcels were tagged as abandoned. Upon the issuance of an order from the Bureau of Customs, a K9 inspection was conducted by the PDEA Airport Interdiction Unit, which yielded a positive indication for the presence of dangerous drugs, prompting a thorough examination and subsequent seizure,” PDEA said in a statement.

The first parcel arrived from the United States and was declared “Brand Shirt Pack.” Upon inspection, the parcel was found to contain a vacuum-sealed transparent plastic bag with 240 grams of kush or high-grade marijuana, PDEA said.

The second parcel, containing three shoe boxes, came from Taiwan. Inside the boxes were transparent plastic bags filled with 618 grams of kush, PDEA said.

The seized kush, totalling 858 grams, has a combined value of P1.12 million, PDEA.

PDEA said the third parcel, which originated from Poland, contained a coffee maker. Inside the coffee maker were 3.02 kilos of Ketamine, worth P15.12 million.
