AUTHORITIES arrested two “big-time” drug dealers who yielded 20 kilos of shabu worth P136 million in a law enforcement operation in Laguna early morning last Tuesday.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) named the suspects as Abedin Salikaya Kendayo, 30; and one alias Rene, 30, of Maguindanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Norte, respectively.
They were arrested by combined operatives of PDEA and PNP during the implementation of an arrest warrant against Kendayo, who is wanted for possession of dangerous drugs.
Seized from them were 20 gold packs with “Guanyinwang” labels containing 20 kilos of shabu; a Nissan Navara truck, an identification card, and two cellphones.
PDEA said Kendayo and Rene are among the “main sources” of illegal drugs circulating in the National Capital Region and nearby provinces.
“The operation is a product of continuous tracking of our previous operations and arrests of members of major drug trafficking organizations,” said PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez.
“PDEA will continue to pursue a sustained and relentless campaign against targeted individuals like Kendayo and alias Rene, who reportedly are big-time suppliers of shabu in Metro Manila and nearby provinces,” added Nerez.
PDEA said the two will be charged for transportation and possession of illegal drugs, under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“If found guilty, a penalty of life imprisonment and a fine ranging from P500,000.00 to ₱10,000,000 shall be imposed upon them,” PDEA said in a statement.
Police seized P240,040 worth of suspected dangerous drugs and nabbed two persons in a buy-bust operation in Binangonan, Rizal last Tuesday.
Col. Feloteo Gonzalgo, Rizal provincial police office (PPO) director, identified the suspects as alias Kim and Mala, both of legal age.
Seized from them were four sachets containing more or less 35.30 grams of suspected shabu. – With Christian Oineza
