The illegal drugs, shipped from Thailand, were seized by joint operatives of PDEA-MICP and the Bureau of Customs, PDEA said.

It said the kush was placed inside 138 heat-sealed transparent plastic bags.

“The substances were concealed in five balikbayan boxes from Thailand,” PDEA said in a statement.

“The shipper and receiver involved are subject to investigation. Once proven, appropriate charges will be filed in violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002),” PDEA also said.

Operatives of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) and other police units arrested a drug dealer in Wao town in Lanao del Sur yesterday afternoon.

The suspect, identified only as alias Aki, 19, was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Buntungan at around 12:05 p.m.

Seized from the suspect were 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000 and non-drug items.
