P100K bounty offered for identity of gunman who shot dead motorcycle rider

THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has offered a P500,000 reward to anyone who could provide a tip on the identity and whereabouts of the gunman who shot dead a motorcycle rider in Quezon City after he tried to run after the former for evading traffic enforcers.

MMDA Deputy Chief Frisco San Juan and Director for Traffic Enforcement lawyer Victor Nuñez conveyed the information about the reward money and condolences when they visited the wake of 31-year-old Wilmer Zara in Rodriguez, Rizal.

The office of Sen. Raffy Tulfo has also pledged P500,000 in reward money to anyone who could provide information that may lead to the arrest of the gunman.

San Juan and Nuñez, who represented MMDA chief Romando Artes, also extended the agency’s financial assistance to Zara’s family.

Zara succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head when the still unidentified rider shot him on the night of March 14 in Commonwealth, Quezon City after he tried to run and accost the suspect fleeing MMDA enforcers.

“Kasalukuyan ng nakikipag-ugnayan ang MMDA sa mga pulis para sa kaso sa hangaring mabigyan ng hustisya ang pagkamatay ng biktima (The MMDA is currently coordinating with the police in our effort to provide justice to the victim),” San Juan said.
