THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program or number coding scheme will be temporarily lifted on some days during the holiday season.
In an advisory, the MMDA said the UVVRP will be suspended on December 24 (special working holiday), Christmas Day, December 25 (regular holiday), December 30, Rizal Day (regular holiday), December 31 (special non-working holiday) and on January 1, 2025, New Year’s Day (regular holiday).
MMDA chief Romando Artes, in the same advisory, reminded travelers and motorists to ensure their vehicles are in good condition before hitting the roadways to prevent accidents.
He also reminded them to exercise discipline in the roadways.
“Tumataas ang bilang ng mga sasakyan sa lansangan dahil sa dami ng bilang ng magbabakasyon at ipagdiriwang ang Kapaskuhan. Saan man ang iyong destinasyon, laging tandaan: planuhin ang biyahe, sumunod sa batas trapiko, at mag-ingat sa pagmamaneho (The number of vehicles in the roadways is increasing due to the volume of travelers and motorists going on Christmas vacation. Wherever your destination, plan for your trip in advance, obey traffic rules, and drive safely),” Artes said.
