AFTER the National Capital Region (NCR), the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) became the second region in the country to get a new wage order.

The Bangsamoro Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board (BTWPB) issued Wage Order No. BARMM-04, which took effect last July 17.

In a social media post, the BARMM Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE) said the new wage order, which granted a P50 wage hike in Bangsamoro, is now effective.

“The P50 increase in the daily wage of private sector workers in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao is now in effect,” said the MOLE.

Under the wage order, the minimum wage rate for non-agricultural workers is now at P411.00, while workers in the agricultural sector will now receive P386.00 in Cotabato City.

In the areas of Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Lanao del Sur and Marawi City, Basilan and Lamitan City, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, the new minimum wage for non-agricultural workers is P386.00, while workers in the agricultural sector must get the minimum wage of P376.00.

For workers in the Special Geographic Areas (SGA), the minimum wage for non-agricultural workers is now at P391.00, while those in the agricultural sector must receive P366.00.

Earlier, the NCR wage board also issued a wage order granting a P50 pay increase for Metro Manila minimum wage earners.

After the NCR and BARMM, five more regions are in line to begin their respective wage review processes.

Data from the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) showed that Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Central Visayas, and Soccsksargen are expected to begin their wage review process by August 2025.

The effectivity dates of the last wage orders of their respective regional wage boards are nearing their anniversary dates.
